Number Day this Friday
This Friday, 4 December is Number Day, a chance for pupils across the UK to enjoy maths while raising money for the Childs Voice Appeal.
Hundreds of schools are expected to take part in the event, in which they fundraise using math games such as 'Who Wants To Be A Mathionaire?' (based on the TV game show), and 'Be the Boss', which challenges pupils to fundraise £100, starting with a budget of £50.
Teachers can download a Number Day from, the NSPCC website which is filled with fun, curriculum-based maths fundraising activities for all ages.
Sheila Heard, Head of Mathematics at the Marist Senior School, Berkshire, which took part in last year’s Number Day, says: “Working with the NSPCC on Number Day cements what the girls learn in lessons. It enables them to extend their knowledge of the supportive charities that exist."
Over two thousand schools have taken part in the NSPCC Number Day since it started in December 2000, raising more than £800,000 for the NSPCC.
